Small European Students Architecture Meeting is a network that supports cultural exchange and the interchange of ideas and know-how between European students of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Fine Arts. SESAM is part of EASA (European Assembly of Students of Architecture). Both, EASA and SESAM are non-political and non-profit organisations.
Periodic meetings, that are held once a year and coordinated by the students, intends to set goals and create opportunities for students, holding a high educational level.
SESAM is a practical, communicative and consultative network that encourages their participants to discuss their ideas, their opinions and their work and to present new creative solutions in an environment of people with different cultural background and different life experience.
It is an unique opportunity to set the base to create common objectives and an open mind for all young architects, engineers and designers that leads to personal growth of each participant, which is shown by the realization of architectural of design pieces, which are exposed in a public exhibition.
Each EASA and SESAM meeting has a topic and intends to gather the essence of the site and the proposals and show them to the participants.
There are two ways to join the event: either as a participant or as a tutor. The first will carry on a project guided by tutors.
If you plan to be a tutor please refer to the Workshop section. Aspiring participants look in the Competition section.
The event will be hosted by the Bioparco di Roma, as part of the celebration for the two hundredth anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin. Thus, the SESAM2009 theme could only be, Evolution.
This site contains all of the information to participate to the event and a brief, but necessary, overview of the city of Rome.
